Who We Are
The Christian fellowship at Garfield Gospel Chapel is a local evangelical church that is both self-supporting and self-governing. It has no denominational affiliation, but it maintains contact with hundreds of similar groups throughout the world.
The basis of our fellowship is a common personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We accept the Bible as having authority over us as individuals and as an assembly. It is all-sufficient to make known God's plan for our salvation and shape our lives.
Our meetings, government, and principles of behavior are a conscious effort to apply Scripture as we believe it was applied in the early days of the New Testament Church.
Why We're Here
- To provide an opportunity to render collective worship to God.
- To maintain a corporate testimony to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the oneness of His Body, the Church.
- To provide opportunity for the public teaching of the Word of God, fellowship, collective prayer, and practicing of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's supper.
- To encourage evangelism through the local church and foreign missions.
- To provide a spiritual atmosphere for mutual care, encouragement and growth for all ages.
